  • Author: maria_scott
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, tangy, and crunchy baked dill pickle dip that combines cream cheese, sour cream, and sharp cheddar with crisp dill pickles, topped with garlic breadcrumbs. This easy appetizer is perfect for parties, game days, and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 blocks (8 oz each) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup large, crisp dill pickle spears, finely chopped and patted dry
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 clove fresh garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Drain and pat dry the dill pickle spears to remove excess moisture, then chop them finely to yield about one cup.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and lump-free.
  4. Add the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, salt, and black pepper to the cream cheese and mix until fully combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped pickles and half of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with melted butter and minced garlic. Sprinkle this mixture over the dip, then top with the remaining cheese.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with chips or crackers.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Pat pickles dry thoroughly to prevent a watery dip. For a spicy kick, add jalapeños or red pepper flakes. For a low-carb option, substitute breadcrumbs with crushed pork rinds or almond flour. The dip can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated; add the topping right before baking.
