Description
A thick, creamy protein shake that tastes like banana bread, designed for easy meal prep. It combines frozen bananas, oats, and protein powder for a high-protein breakfast that stays fresh for up to three days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium ripe bananas (frozen)
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon nut butter (peanut or almond)
- Ice (optional, if bananas are not frozen)
Instructions
- Peel bananas, break into chunks, and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- In a blender, combine almond milk, protein powder, and nut butter. Blend for 15 seconds until smooth.
- Add frozen banana chunks, oats, chia seeds, and cinnamon to the blender.
- Blend on low speed initially, then increase to high speed for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if desired.
- Divide the mixture evenly among 3-4 containers for meal prep.
- Seal tightly and refrigerate immediately. Stir or shake well before drinking.
Notes
For best results, use frozen bananas to achieve a thick, milkshake-like consistency. If using fresh bananas, add ice. The shake holds up well in the fridge for up to 3 days due to chia seeds, but should be stirred before drinking. For a smoother texture, blend oats into flour first.
