Description
Quick and easy crescent rolls filled with spiced apples and butter, perfect for meal prep and reheating well for busy lunches.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 medium apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Peel and core apples, then slice into thin, even strips (about 1/8 inch thick).
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the butter mixture over the apple slices and toss gently to coat.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles. Arrange on the baking sheet with pointy ends facing you.
- Place a few slices of coated apple at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll the dough up towards the pointy end, tucking the ends under to seal.
- Brush the tops of the rolls generously with the remaining butter mixture.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
Notes
Keep the dough cold to prevent tearing. Ensure apple slices are uniform for even baking. Do not overfill the rolls to prevent bursting. Store cooled rolls in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in oven or air fryer for best texture.
