Description
Recreate the classic Big Mac flavor with this easy meal prep wrap recipe. Featuring a homemade Thousand Island-style sauce, seasoned ground beef, and crisp toppings, these wraps are designed to stay fresh and flavorful for up to 4 days.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (680g) Lean Ground Beef (90/10 or 85/15)
- 1 medium Yellow Onion, finely diced
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
- 2 tablespoons Ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Pickle Relish
- 1 teaspoon White Vinegar
- 0.5 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 0.25 teaspoon Paprika
- 5 Large Flour Tortillas (10–12 inches)
- 2 cups Shredded Lettuce (Iceberg or mix)
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 10–15 Dill Pickle Slices
Instructions
- Wash and thoroughly dry the lettuce, then shred it finely. Pat the pickle slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, yellow mustard, ketchup, pickle relish, white vinegar, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth. Cover and refrigerate to allow flavors to meld.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onion, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon. Sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the beef mixture for 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned and onions are translucent. Drain excess fat if necessary, then stir in Worcestershire sauce and remove from heat.
- Allow the beef mixture to cool completely to room temperature (about 5-10 minutes) to prevent soggy tortillas.
- Lay out the tortillas. Layer shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, cooled beef mixture, and pickle slices onto each tortilla.
- Drizzle the copycat sauce over the filling. Fold the bottom of the tortilla up, fold in the sides, and roll tightly.
- Wrap each wrap tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Notes
Ensure all lettuce and pickles are completely dry before assembling to prevent soggy wraps. Let the beef cool completely before assembly to avoid steaming the tortilla. The sauce can be made up to a week in advance. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free tortillas. For a dairy-free option, use vegan mayo and cheese alternatives.
