  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Recreate the famous Texas Roadhouse grilled shrimp at home with this simple, quick recipe featuring a rich garlic butter marinade and smoky grill marks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp (2630 count), peeled, deveined, tails on
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (for marinade)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for marinade)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (for sauce)
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced (for sauce)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, melt 4 tablespoons of butter and mix with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic, Old Bay seasoning, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Whisk to combine.
  2. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl and toss gently to coat evenly in the marinade. Refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (approx. 400°F/200°C). Clean and oil the grates thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  4. Place shrimp on the grill in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side until pink with grill marks. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until opaque and slightly charred.
  5. While shrimp grill, melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
  6. Transfer grilled shrimp to a serving platter. Drizzle with the warm garlic butter sauce, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Pat shrimp dry before seasoning to ensure a good sear. Do not overcook shrimp as they become rubbery; they are done when opaque and pink. If using bamboo skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes first. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently in a skillet.
