Cottage Cheese Protein Shake: Meal Prep for 4 Days

  • Author: maria_scott
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, high-protein shake made with cottage cheese, frozen bananas, and almond milk. Designed for meal prep, this shake stays fresh for up to 4 days and provides a delicious, filling breakfast or post-workout refuel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (450g) low-fat or full-fat cottage cheese (small-curd preferred)
  • 2 medium frozen bananas
  • 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored whey or plant-based protein powder (optional)
  • A handful of fresh spinach (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Prep fruit by peeling and slicing bananas, then freezing them for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Add cottage cheese and almond milk to a blender and blend on high for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth.
  3. Add frozen bananas, vanilla extract, honey (if using), spinach (if using), and protein powder (if using) to the blender.
  4. Blend on high for another 30-45 seconds until fully incorporated and smooth.
  5. Check consistency; add more milk if too thick or more frozen fruit/ice if too thin.
  6. Divide the mixture evenly among four mason jars or bottles.
  7. Seal jars tightly and store immediately in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  8. Shake or stir well before drinking as ingredients may settle.

Notes

Blend the cottage cheese with liquid first to ensure a smooth base without curds. Use cold ingredients for the best texture. If using a lower-powered blender, pause to scrape down sides. Do not freeze the shake as the texture will change upon thawing. Shake well before drinking if stored for multiple days.
