  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, spicy, and cheesy jalapeño popper dip that is perfect for game day. This easy-to-make appetizer combines cream cheese, sharp cheddar, mozzarella, fresh jalapeños, and crispy bacon for a crowd-pleasing flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces (450g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup (100g) sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • ½ cup (50g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh jalapeño peppers, finely diced
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the cream cheese and mix until well combined.
  4. Add the shredded sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheese to the bowl and mix on low speed until evenly distributed.
  5. Gently fold in the diced jalapeños and crumbled bacon using a spatula, reserving a small handful of each for topping.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the reserved bacon and jalapeños on top.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes to allow the dip to set slightly.
  9. Sprinkle the sliced green onions over the top before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese to avoid lumps. Grate your own cheese for better melting. Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to prevent skin irritation. Do not freeze if it contains cream cheese as it may separate upon thawing. Serve with tortilla chips, pita chips, or vegetable sticks.
