Description
A quick, no-bake air fryer pineapple recipe that caramelizes the fruit for a sweet, tangy snack perfect for meal prep and keeping you full in the afternoon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium fresh pineapple (firm, ripe)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, if pineapple is not very sweet)
Instructions
- Wash the pineapple, peel off the skin, remove the eyes, and cut into rings. Remove the core and slice rings into 1-inch uniform chunks.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt, and brown sugar (if using) until smooth.
- Place pineapple chunks in a large bowl and pour the butter mixture over them. Toss gently to coat every piece evenly.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Arrange the pineapple chunks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the pieces halfway through (at the 4-minute mark) to ensure even browning.
- Remove from the air fryer when edges are golden and slightly charred but centers are tender. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving or storing.
Notes
Use fresh pineapple rather than canned for better texture. Ensure pineapple chunks are uniform in size for even cooking. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to prevent steaming. If the pineapple burns, lower the temperature to 350°F. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best texture.
