Description
A quick and indulgent weeknight dinner featuring juicy beef patties, crispy bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and creamy ranch dressing, ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 8–10 strips thick-cut bacon
- 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup creamy ranch dressing
- 4 brioche or potato burger buns
- 1 cup shredded lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
- 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 small red onion, sliced into rings
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange bacon strips in a single layer. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a large mixing bowl, gently combine ground beef with salt and pepper. Do not overmix. Divide into four equal portions and shape into 3/4-inch thick patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of oil if needed. Place patties in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving to create a crust.
- Flip patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes. During the last minute, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover with a lid to help cheese melt. Remove patties and let rest for 1 minute.
- Toast the brioche buns in a toaster oven or skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Spread ranch dressing on both top and bottom buns. Assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato slices, the cheeseburger patty, 2-3 strips of crispy bacon, and onion rings. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure beef is cold before forming patties to help them hold shape. Let burgers rest before assembling to redistribute juices. For low-carb options, serve in lettuce wraps. If using leaner beef or turkey, adjust cooking time to ensure safety.
